ಮೈಸೂರು, ಜು. ೨೮: ನಗರದ ಕೆ.ಆರ್. ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ವಾರ್ಡ್ ೫೧ರ ಶ್ರೀ ಅಂಬಳ ಅಣ್ಣಯ್ಯ ಪಂಡಿತ ಶಾಲೆ ಸಮೀಪದ ಮೋರಿ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಸದ ರಾಶಿ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಂತೆ ಸಂಗ್ರಹವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರು ತೀವ್ರ ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಕಸ ಹಾಕುವುದನ್ನು ತಡೆಯುವ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಮೈಸೂರು ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಹಲವು ಕಡೆ ಸಿಸಿಟಿವಿ ಕ್ಯಾಮೆರಾಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿದ್ದರೂ, ನಿಯಮ ಉಲ್ಲಂಘಿಸಿ ಕಸ ಎಸೆಯುವವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಯಾವುದೇ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ಆರೋಪ ಕೇಳಿಬಂದಿದೆ. ಕಸ ಎಸೆಯುವವರನ್ನು ಪತ್ತೆಹಚ್ಚಿ ದಂಡ ವಿಧಿಸುವ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಕವಾಗಿ ಜಾರಿಯಾಗದ ಕಾರಣ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರು ಯಾವುದೇ ಭಯವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಬಹಿರಂಗವಾಗಿ ಕಸ ಹಾಕುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತ ಅಕ್ಬರ್ ಅವರು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಜಾಲತಾಣಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಈ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಪದೇ ಪದೇ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ತರುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ತಮ್ಮ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಸಮಯವನ್ನೇ ಮೀಸಲಿಟ್ಟು ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳಿ ಸ್ವತಃ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತಾ ಕಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲೂ ತೊಡಗಿರುವುದು ಗಮನಾರ್ಹವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಸ್ವಚ್ಛ ನಗರ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ಸಹಕಾರ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾದರೂ, ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸುವುದಷ್ಟೇ ಸಾಕಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಖರೀದಿಸಿರುವ ಆಧುನಿಕ ಯಂತ್ರೋಪಕರಣಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಬಳಸುವುದು ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಕೋಟ್ಯಂತರ ರೂಪಾಯಿ ವೆಚ್ಚದಲ್ಲಿ ಖರೀದಿಸಿದ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛತಾ ಸಾಧನಗಳು ಸಮರ್ಪಕವಾಗಿ ಬಳಕೆಯಾಗದೆ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಹಣ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಆತಂಕ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ನಗರವನ್ನು ನಿಜವಾದ ಅರ್ಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಚ್ಛವಾಗಿಡಲು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ಸಹಕಾರದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಆಡಳಿತದ ನಿರಂತರ ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಣೆ, ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟಿನ ಜಾರಿ, ಹೊಣೆಗಾರಿಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಪರಿಣಾಮಕಾರಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಯೋಜನೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Garbage Pile in Mysuru Ward 51 Raises Civic Concerns Despite CCTV Surveillance
Mysuru, July 28: A large heap of garbage has accumulated beside a roadside drain near Sri Ambala Annayya Pandit School in Ward 51 of the K.R. Constituency, raising serious concerns among local residents over sanitation and public health.
Although the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has installed CCTV cameras at several locations to discourage illegal garbage dumping, residents allege that little action is being taken against those violating the rules. The cameras appear to have had limited impact, as people continue to dump waste openly without fear of penalties.
Local social activist Akbar has repeatedly highlighted the issue on social media and brought it to the attention of the authorities. In addition to raising awareness, he has personally participated in cleaning the accumulated garbage, demonstrating his commitment to maintaining public cleanliness.
Citizens say that building a truly clean Mysuru requires more than awareness campaigns. They argue that the advanced sanitation equipment, technology, and waste management systems purchased by the civic body should be used consistently and effectively, rather than being showcased only during promotional drives. Residents also expressed concern that expensive equipment purchased with public funds is often left underutilized.
Residents have urged the Mysuru City Corporation to strengthen monitoring, strictly enforce anti-littering regulations, impose penalties on offenders, and ensure regular maintenance to achieve the vision of a cleaner and healthier Mysuru.
